Waukegan Epoxy Flooring is an epoxy flooring company based in Waukegan, IL, with more than 20 years of experience coating garage, basement and commercial concrete. We install epoxy, polyaspartic, metallic and flake floors, polished concrete and specialty systems for kitchens and electronics, for homeowners, landlords and businesses across Lake County and the surrounding area.
We think of ourselves as concrete people first. A floor coating is only as good as the slab underneath it and the bond between the two, so most of what makes our floors last happens before any color goes down.
Our Approach
Every slab we coat is opened mechanically with a diamond grinder or a shot blaster, and we never acid etch. Moisture testing is a line in every scope, garage and basement alike, because many older slabs around here were poured without a vapor retarder and a dry-looking floor is not always a dry one. We read the cracks and the old coating before we quote, and when a slab needs repair or replacement first, we say so. We are also honest about what a coating cannot do: it is a film that follows the concrete under it, it will not stop a moving crack, and it is not radon mitigation.
Our proposals name the product, the system build and the finished thickness, so you can check what went down against what you paid for. Warranty exclusions are read out before the job is sold, with moisture named first.
Every home job gets a written contract and the state’s consumer-rights pamphlet before work starts, as Illinois law requires, and because Illinois has no state license for coatings work, we confirm each town’s own registration and insurance rules before scheduling. We cure against slab temperature and dew point rather than the calendar, collect our grinding dust and slurry on site, and choose products within the Illinois VOC limits. Rental jobs are planned around tenants, and commercial jobs around the hours a building has to keep running.
